#20 Lightning Advance to 7AA Final, Northern Stars Lose

(Northland's NewsCenter) --- The #20-ranked Grand Rapids-Greenway girl's hockey team advanced to the Section 7AA championship game on Saturday with a 4-3 win over Cloquet-Esko-Carlton in double overtime.

Molly Illikainen scored the game-winning goal just over two minutes into the second overtime period, her second tally of the contest.

The Lightning also got goals from Hannah Schmoll and Aspen Anderson in the winning effort.

The Duluth Northern Stars lost on Saturday afternoon to #1-seeded Elk River by a 5-1 score, meaning the Lightning will meet the Elks in the Section 7AA championship.
