Duluth, MN (Northland's NewsCenter) --- The UMD men's hockey team drew a #2 seed in the 2012 NCAA tournament on Sunday, two days after falling to Denver in the Western Collegiate Hockey Association semifinals.
The Bulldogs were sent to the Northeast regional in Worcester, MA, where they will play #3-seed Maine in the tournament's first round.
That game between UMD and Maine is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. on Saturday night, with #1-seed Boston College and #4-seed Air Force playing in the other Northeast regional first-round matchup.
UMD is (24-9-6) overall this season and will be trying to defend the program's first-ever NCAA national championship from a year ago.
