Two Harbors, MN (Northland's NewsCenter) --- Lakeview Christian Academy senior center Luke Borchardt surpassed 1,000 career points on Thursday night in his team's 95-65 win over Two Harbors.

Borchardt, who was diagnosed with leukemia at the age of six, hit the scoring milestone with a buzzer beating shot at the end of the first half.

He finished the game with 22 points and 13 rebounds for the visiting Lakeview Christian Academy.

The Lions senior stopped receiving cancer treatments by the time he was nine years old, and this season has played a tremendous role in Lakeview Christian Academy's (18-3) overall record.

Teammate Anders Broman also hit a scoring milestone on Thursday night, becoming the third player in state history to eclipse 3,400 career points.

The Lions have a game Saturday afternoon against Cook County before a crosstown battle with Duluth East on February 23.
