St. Paul, MN (Northland's NewsCenter) --- Former UMD Bulldog star Mike Connolly made his NHL debut on Sunday night with the Colorado Avalanche in a 2-0 win over the Minnesota Wild.
Connolly played more than 14 minutes in the winning effort, putting one shot on goal and taking a single two-minute minor penalty.
The former Bulldog was traded in February to Colorado from San Jose, where he signed a free agent contract following his junior season at UMD.
He played in 123 games during his three years with UMD, racking up 136 points and being named an NCAA All-American after his junior season.
