Hermantown, MN (Northland's NewsCenter) --- The #1-ranked Hermantown boy's hockey team will be the top seed in next week's MSHSL Class A state tournament, that after winning the Section 5A title on Friday night.
Hermantown will take on Rochester Lourdes in the state quarterfinals, with that game set for 6:00 p.m. Wednesday at Xcel Energy Center in St. Paul.
The Hawks are (28-0) going into the state tournament, having finished as runners-up a year ago. It is Hermantown's third straight and ninth overall trip to the state tournament.
Duluth Marshall, meanwhile, will meet #3-seeded Breck in its Class A quarterfinal game after capturing the Section 7A championship on Saturday.
The Hilltoppers are making their first trip to state since 2008 and fifth trip in program history.
