Hurricanes Earn Berth in WIAA State Tournament

New Richmond, WI (Northland's NewsCenter) --- The #2-ranked Hayward-Spooner girl's hockey team earned a trip to the WIAA state tournament on Friday night with a 2-1 win over River Falls in the section championship.

Holly Turnbull scored two goals for the Hurricanes in the winning effort, both coming in the game's first period.

Hayward-Spooner now goes on to play D.C. Everest on March 2 in the first round of the WIAA state tournament.
