Northland's Ristau Sets School Streak at Catcher

Ashland, WI (Northland's NewsCenter) --- Northland's Rebecca Ristau's softball school record of consecutive innings played at catcher stands at 288 1/3 after coming to an end in Milwaukee on March 24.

Ristau, nicknamed "Feek," tweaked her back during game one of a doubleheader and the decision was made to let Angelena Koosmann catch the second game.

The last time the Lumberjills took the field without Ristau behind the plate was May 9, 2010.

"Feek's streak has been amazing with the toll put on a catcher, espcially when you consider that virtually all of games are doubleheaders," Northland coach Steve Wammer said. "It's a great feeling as a coach to know that every game you can put down her name on the lineup card and know you are going to have a great job behind the plate."

The Lumberjills currently hold a (7-7) overall record in the 2012 season.
