Duluth, MN (Northland's NewsCenter) --- The St. Scholastica baseball team was the unanimous choice to win the Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC) in the 2012 preseason coaches' poll released on Monday.
The Saints have won every UMAC regular season championship since 1997 and every UMAC postseason championship since 1998.
The team earned the conference's first-ever NCAA tournament automatic qualifier last season with the UMAC postseason title, making it to their second NCAA regional tournament final in the past four years.
St. Scholastica returns the 2011 UMAC player of the year in catcher Kyyle Moody as well as second team all-region first baseman Brandon Peterson and third team all-region selection Kyle Flagstad.
