Duluth, MN (Northland's NewsCenter) --- St. Scholastica junior basketball player Brett Tester has been named to the academic All-District team, it was announced Thursday by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).
Tester carries a 4.0 grade point average at St. Scholastica, where he is majoring in accounting and finance. He is also a leader on the court for the Saints, averaging more than 18 points per game.
Tester is now eligible for the academic All-American ballot, from which selections will be made in late February.
The junior forward is the first-ever Saints men's basketball player to be recognized with an academic All-District team.
Tester became the 10th men's player to record 1,000 career points earlier this season and is currently ninth on the program's all-time scoring list.
