Duluth, MN (Northland's NewsCenter) --- Todd Strop has resigned after two seasons as the UMD football defensive coordinator, it was announced on Tuesday afternoon.
Strop cited personal reasons for his departure, saying that he has spent the past two years award from his wife and two daughters, who live in River Falls, WI.
Former assistant coach Tyler Yelk will immediately take over as the team's interim defensive coordinator. The Bulldogs' spring season begins on April 9.
The 43-year-old Strop helped produce five NCAA All-Americans during his time with the Bulldogs and helped the team to its second-ever Division II national championship.
