Superior Native Olson Leads First Period Onslaught

Duluth, MN (Northland's NewsCenter) --- Superior native Brett Olson scored the first of four first period Michigan Tech goals on Saturday night, as the HuskIes took a 4-0 lead over the #1-ranked UMD men's hockey team.

For Olson, it was his seventh goal of the year for the Huskies and put his team up 1-0 midway through the first period.

He was followed by goals from Blake Pietila, David Johnstone, and Jacob Johnstone, giving Michigan Tech a commanding 3-0 advantage in the first period.

Olson, in his second year as captain of Michigan Tech, now has 24 points for the Huskies this season.

Saturday's game between the Bulldogs and Huskies can be seen live in the Northland on the My 9 Sports Network.

Hermantown, MN (Northland's NewsCenter) --- Bo Gronseth scored two second period goals as the #1-ranked Hermantown boy's hockey team won 5-3 over New Prague on Saturday, staying undefeated this year.
