Superior, WI (Northland's NewsCenter) --- UW-Superior senior pitcher Ethan Branum and junior catcher Jeff Miller have landed Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) honors after helping their team to a (7-1) record on a trip to Arizona.
Branum was named the WIAC pitcher of the week following his complete-game performance in a 10-2 win over Carthage. He allowed only seven hits, struck out five, and walked two to pick up his second win of the year.
Miller, meanwhile, was named the WIAC player of the week after hitting .385 on the Arizona trip while scoring nine runs and finishing with 11 runs batted in.
The Yellowjackets are (9-5) overall this season and are next in action March 29, when they go on the road to take on St. Olaf.
