Duluth, MN (Northland's NewsCenter) --- UMD senior captain Haley Irwin was not among the top 10 finalists named Thursday for the Patty Kazmaier Award, given annually to the nation's top women's college hockey player.
Irwin leads the Bulldogs with 16 goals and 36 assists this season, and earlier this year she recorded her 200th career point in a UMD win against Minnesota State-Mankato.
Irwin was in the top 30 finalists named in mid-February and was also one of the top 10 finalists in the 2010-11 season.
12 Bulldogs players have been in the top three for the award, but the program has never had a player win the top individual award in women's college hockey.
