Duluth, MN (Northland's NewsCenter) --- Former UMD Bulldogs defenseman Justin Faulk was in Duluth for a little over 24 hours this week, visiting his old teammates before heading to Ottawa for the NHL All-Star weekend.

The 19-year-old blueliner will take part in the All-Star player fantasy draft on January 26 and the All-Star skills competition on January 28.

Faulk has four goals and seven assists for the Carolina Hurricanes this season. He is also the NHL leader among rookie defenseman in ice time per game, skating over 22 minutes every time out for Carolina.

He signed his professional contract with the Hurricanes last spring after helping the Bulldogs to the team's first-ever NCAA national championship.

During that season, Faulk had eight goals and 25 assists while playing his only season with UMD.
