Duluth Marshall reaches Class A Championship game

By KBJR News 2

This time a two-goal advantage was plenty for Duluth Marshall.

Zach Mausolf scored two goals and Willie Paul made 33 saves to lead the Hilltoppers to a 3-1 win over Warroad in the Class 1A boys state hockey tournament semifinals today.

Tom Paine scored the other goal for Marshall, which led 2-0 in a game against Warroad on January 25th. But Warroad scored two goals in the final 16 seconds and won that game in overtime.

The Warriors fell behind 3-0 just 15 seconds into the third period and didn't have another miracle comeback in them.

Dane Shaugabay scored the lone goal for Warroad.

The Hilltoppers will play in their third straight state title game after losing the last two.
