Duluth, MN (Northland's NewsCenter) --- The UMD men's hockey team fell to #3 in this week's U.S. College Hockey Online poll, putting an end to a program-best eight-week run as the nation's top-ranked team.
The Bulldogs split a weekend series in Alaska-Anchorage this past weekend, winning 4-1 on Friday night before falling 3-2 on Saturday.
UMD has cracked the top 20 in every U.S. College Hockey Online poll since November 2, 2009, and the team currently sits three points behind conference-leading Minnesota.
The Bulldogs host #16-ranked North Dakota this Friday and Saturday at AMSOIL Arena in Duluth, with drop of the puck set for 7:07 p.m. both nights. The games can be seen on live television in the Northland on the My 9 Sports Network.
BULLDOGS WOMEN STAY #9 AFTER WEEKEND SPLIT
The UMD women's hockey team stayed ranked #9 in this week's U.S. College Hockey Online poll, that after trading wins with Ohio State this past weekend.
The Bulldogs won 4-2 on Friday night before losing 4-3 on Saturday, keeping them tied for fourth place in the Western Collegiate Hockey Conference.
UMD is on the road this Friday and Saturday to face Bemidji State, with drop of the puck set for 2:07 p.m. each day.
