Duluth, MN (Northland's NewsCenter) --- The UMD women's hockey team moved up three spots to fourth in the U.S. College Hockey Online poll this week following a win and a tie against WCHA rival North Dakota this weekend.
Duluth native Emma Stauber is a freshman defender this season with the Bulldogs, playing in eight games and recording one assist this year.
Stauber played her high school hockey with the Proctor-Hermantown-Marshall Mirage, helping them reach the MSHSL state tournament in 2010.
Her senior season, she was named captain of the team and led all scorers that year with 32 points.
Now, at UMD, Stauber is vying for playing time among some of the best players in the country, and she is this week's feature on Sammy's Pizza Turn Back the Clock.
