#1 Bulldogs Beat Crookston in NSIC Opener

Duluth, MN (NNCNOW.com) --- Monica Turner led the University of Minnesota-Duluth (UMD) volleyball team with 13 kills on Thursday night, helping the #1-ranked Bulldogs to a 3-0 win over Minnesota-Crookston at Romano Gymnasium.

Hibbing, Minn. native Kate Lange added 10 kills in the winning effort, while Julie Rainey had 17 digs and Ashley Hinsch had 35 set assists for the Bulldogs.

The match was UMD's first this season against a Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC) opponent, with the win moving them to (10-0) overall.

UMD will next be in action on Sept. 21 on the road against Bemidji State, with that match scheduled for a 4:00 p.m. start.
