#12 Bulldogs Start Official Practice in 2012-13

Duluth, MN (Northland's NewsCenter) --- The #12-ranked University of Minnesota-Duluth (UMD) men's hockey team started official practices on Saturday, that ahead of starting play in the 2012-13 season next weekend against Ohio State.

That preseason ranking comes from a poll put out by U.S. College Hockey Online (USCHO), with the Bulldogs being one of six teams from the Western Collegiate Hockey Association (WCHA) ranked in the top 20.

UMD was (25-10-6) a year ago and qualified for the NCAA Division I tournament, where it lost to eventual national champion Boston College.

The Bulldogs open the regular season by hosting Ohio State October 12-13 at AMSOIL Arena in Duluth, Minn. Those games can be seen on live television in the Northland on the My 9 Sports Network.
