Duluth, MN (NNCNOW.com) --- Duluth, Minn. native and University of Minnesota-Duluth (UMD) senior Tyra Kerr has been named to the 2013 Daktronics NCAA Division II Central Region second team, it was announced on Monday afternoon.

Kerr was third on the Bulldogs this season with a .349 batting average, collecting a team-high 68 hits in 195 at-bats. She finished with eight doubles and four home runs, knocking in 27 runs for UMD on the year.

UMD finished the season with an overall record of (41-13), winning the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC) regular season championship for the first time since 2003.

Despite that, the Bulldogs were not selected for an at-large bid to the 64-team NCAA Division II tournament, marking the first time since 2009 UMD was not involved in the tournament.
