Duluth, MN (Northland's NewsCenter) --- The #8-ranked University of Minnesota-Duluth (UMD) women's hockey team completed a weekend sweep of the Minnesota Whitecaps on Saturday afternoon, winning 5-2 at AMSOIL Arena in Duluth.

There were five different goal scorers for the Bulldogs in the winning effort, with senior Katie Wilson netting the eventual game-winner late in the first period.

Jamie Kenyon, Pernilla Winberg, Jenna McParland, and Zoe Hickel also scored for UMD in the winning effort. Duluth, Minn. native and Bulldogs sophomore Emma Stauber also had two assists in the contest.

UMD's all-time leading scorer Jenny Potter, now playing with the Whitecaps, also tallied two assists in the exhibition game. She and Duluth, Minn. native Amy Stech provided two local connections on that Minnesota squad.

UMD will start play in the regular season October 5 against Ohio State, with that Friday night game set for a 7:07 p.m. start at AMSOIL Arena in Duluth.
