AMSOIL Arena Misses on Regional Bids

Duluth, MN (NNCNOW.com) --- A list of 523 host sites for 82 NCAA championships between 2014 and 2018 was announced on Wednesday morning, and AMSOIL Arena was not included among the buildings selected to host the future national tournaments.

AMSOIL Arena had put in bids for both the 2015 and 2016 men's hockey regional tournaments, but the home rink of both the University of Minnesota Duluth (UMD) men's and women's hockey teams was not selected by the NCAA committee.

The 2015 regional tournaments will be instead be played in Providence, R.I., Manchester, N.H., South Bend, Ind., and Fargo, N.D. while the 2016 tournaments will be played in Albany, N.Y., Worcester, Mass., Cincinnati, Ohio, and St. Paul, Minn.
