Bemidji State Scores Late, Narrowly Beats UMD

Duluth, MN (NNCNOW.com) --- The University of Minnesota-Duluth (UMD) women's hockey team outshot Bemidji State 38-16 but fell victim to a late goal from the Beavers 1-0 for their first loss in the past five games on Saturday night.

With 15 seconds left in the game, ivana Bilic skated into the zone and put her shot past UMD netminder Kayla Black for the power-play goal. It was originally not called but after further video review was determined a goal.

Beaver goaltender Brittni Mowat earned the shutout after turning away all 38 shots.

UMD (7-5-2) will host Team Russia on Tuesday night at 6:07 p.m. in an exhibition game.
