Duluth, MN (Northland's NewsCenter) --- Hibbing native and University of Minnesota-Duluth (UMD) junior outside hitter Kate Lange has been named the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC) offensive player of the week, it was announced on Monday.
Lange led the Bulldogs with 50 kills this past weekend, helping her team to two home wins in opening UMD's NSIC schedule.
The Hibbing native had 21 kills in a Friday night 3-0 win over Northern State, and then on Saturday finished with a season-high 29 kills in a 3-2 win over Minnesota State-Moorhead.
This marks the second straight week Lange has garnered NSIC offensive player of the week honors, and it also is the fourth time in her career to win the award.
UMD is now (11-0) this 2012 season and will next be in action on September 18 on the road against St. Cloud State.
