Bulldogs Picked 7th in Preseason NSIC Poll

Duluth, MN (Northland's NewsCenter) --- The University of Minnesota-Duluth (UMD) men's basketball team has been picked to finish seventh in the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC) preseason coaches' poll, which was released on Thursday.

The Bulldogs return four starters from a 2011-12 squad that finished with a (14-13) overall record, including senior captain Jake Hottenstine.

UMD does welcome a new head coach this season, with Matt Bowen taking over for longtime men's head coach Gary Holquist. Bowen comes to the Bulldogs from Bemidji state, where he was named the NSIC coach of the year following last season.
