Duluth, MN (NNCNOW.com) --- The University of Minnesota-Duluth (UMD) women's soccer team has been picked to finish fifth this season in the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC), that according to a preseason poll of the league's coaches.
UMD finished 2012 eighth in the NSIC with an overall record of (7-5-3), so coaches expect a slight uptick in performance from the Bulldogs in 2013.
The team returns its leading scorer from last season in junior forward Maureen Stormont, and also returning is sophomore goalkeeper Marissa Rosa.
UMD will open the 2013 season at home on Sept. 5, with that game set for a 7:00 p.m. start at Malosky Stadium.
