Cloquet's Plante, USA Lose at Ivan Hlinka

Breclav, Czech Republic (NNCNOW.com) --- Cloquet, Minn. native Derek Plante and the United States Under-18 team dropped the first game of the 2014 Ivan Hlinka Memorial Tournament on Monday, losing 4-2 to the Czech Republic.

Brock Boeser put the Americans up 1-0 in the first period, but the team's only other goal came from Robert Jackson on a penalty shot in the third period.

Plante is the head coach of the United States this year after winning a silver medal as an assistant coach in 2013. His team will next be in action at 8:30 a.m. CT on Tuesday against Russia.
