Duluth, MN (NNCNOW.com) --- The University of Minnesota Duluth (UMD) men's hockey team finished the first half of the season in a tie for sixth place and will start the second half of the year on Friday against conference foe Nebraska-Omaha.
UMD has 16 National Collegiate Hockey Conference (NCHC) games remaining, and the guys know there's still time to right the ship headed into playoffs.
"We've got a lot of league games here in the second half, and there's a lot of point to be had," said head coach Scott Sandelin. "It starts this weekend on the road. If you want to be an upper echelon team, you have to win on the road and take care of things at home. It starts this weekend at Omaha."
UMD will start the second half of the season Jan. 10-11 on the road against the Mavericks, with Friday's game set to start at 7:37 p.m. and Saturday's game set for a 7:07 p.m. start.
