Duluth, MN (NNCNOW.com) --- Duluth, Minn. native and future University of Minnesota-Duluth (UMD) forward Dom Toninato has been invited to the 2013 United States national junior evaluation camp, which will act as a tryout for the 2014 International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF) junior world championships.

Toninato is one of 40 players and 24 forwards to earn an invite to the camp, which will run Aug. 3-10 in Lake Placid, N.Y.

The former Duluth East standout skated this winter for Fargo in the United States Hockey League (USHL), finishing eighth in the league with 29 goals and 41 assists.

Seven of his goals were game-winners, a mark that tied him for third among all skaters in the USHL. He also finished the year with a plus-29 rating, which tied him for 12th among league skaters.

Toninato, a fifth-round draft choice of Toronto in the 2012 NHL Entry Draft, will join the UMD program as a freshman in the 2013-14 season.
