Duluth, MN (NNCNOW.com) --- Former University of Minnesota Duluth (UMD) quarterback Chase Vogler confirmed to NNCNOW.com on Tuesday afternoon that he will return to semi-professional football this fall with the Bielefeld Bulldogs in the German Football League.

Vogler played most of last season with Bielefeld before being forced to leave the team early due to a lower body injury.

The former UMD star will leave for Germany on Thursday and plans to play just the first four games of 2014 with Bielefeld, the first of those being scheduled for April 19.

Vogler played at UMD from 2009-2012 and amassed a record of (46-6) as a starting quarterback, most notably leading the team to the 2010 NCAA Division II championship.

His 2,903 rushing yards are still the most in program history for a quarterback, and his 10,486 total yards of offense ranks second among all players in the UMD history books.
