Ex-UMD Coach Schweigert Lands UND Job

Grand Forks, ND (NNCNOW.com) --- Former University of Minnesota Duluth (UMD) head football coach Kyle "Bubba" Schweigert has been named the head coach at the University of North Dakota, it was announced on Tuesday.

Schweigert will be formally introduced during a press conference on Friday as the school's 26th head coach. Schweigert returns to UND after spending 15 seasons with there earlier in his career.

In his four seasons as UMD head coach, Schweigert finished with a record of (22-21), which included an (8-4) season in 2005 that saw the Bulldogs win a share of the North Central Conference (NCC). They also qualified for the NCAA Division II Tournament.

During his time at UND, he helped North Dakota to six NCC titles and was part of the programs NCAA Division II championship in the 2001 season.
