Fans an Important Piece of UMD Spring Game

Duluth, MN (NNCNOW.com) --- Fans are crucial to what University of Minnesota Duluth (UMD) football coaches are looking for out of Friday's 40th annual Maroon-White Spring Game at Malosky Stadium --- that's how their players will react under pressure.

"Last year after we had 1,000 people in the stands, they came out and said that was like playing a real football game," head coach Curt Wiese said. "It makes a big difference. We want to make it an event, not just a football practice or game, but an event for the community."

This year's Maroon-White Spring Game will kickoff at 6:00 p.m. on Friday at Malosky Stadium, with free food being provided by Texas Roadhouse and UMD player parents to the first 500 fans in attendance.
