Former 'Dog Brown Makes Jump to NHL

Tampa Bay, FL (NNCNOW.com) --- Former University of Minnesota-Duluth (UMD) forward J.T. Brown got the call to the NHL on Thursday night for the Tampa Bay Lightning in a 2-1 win over Montreal, totaling eight different Bulldogs to skate in the pros this season.

Brown started the season with the AHL's Syracuse Crunch before being called up. The 23-year old spent all of last season with the Crunch, finishing with 10 goals and 18 assists in 51 games.

Brown spent two seasons with UMD, racking up 40 goals and 44 assists while also helping the Bulldogs to the 2011 NCAA Division I championship.
