Duluth, MN (NNCNOW.com) --- University of Minnesota-Duluth (UMD) sophomore Chanel Miller was named this week as the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC) field athlete of the year, and she stopped into our studios to speak about her season thus far.

Miller won the NSIC indoor pentathlon championship with a school-record 3,798 points, which also currently stands as the second-best total in all of Division II this season.

The UMD sophomore also finished second in three other events at the NSIC indoor championships, those being the 60-meter hurdles, the long jump, and the high jump.

Also the 2012 NSIC outdoor track and field newcomer of the year, Miller will be in Birmingham, Ala. next week to compete in both the pentathlon and the long jump at the NCAA Division II indoor track and field championships
