Duluth, MN (NNCNOW.com) --- Jamie Kenyon scored the game's lone goal and Kayla Black made 26 saves on Friday night as the University of Minnesota Duluth (UMD) women's hockey team beat Ohio State 1-0 in game one of a Western Collegiate Hockey Association (WCHA) playoff series.

Kenyon's goal came early in the second period, and Black fought off several later chances for the Buckeyes to give the Bulldogs an edge in the best-of-three first-round playoff series.

Game two of the series is scheduled for 6:07 p.m. on Saturday at AMSOIL Arena.
