Duluth, MN (Northland's NewsCenter) --- The #6-ranked University of Minnesota-Duluth (UMD) volleyball team will have a huge test on Friday night, hosting Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC) rival Concordia-St. Paul at Romano Gymnasium in Duluth.

The Golden Bears are ranked #4 this week in Division II, and the program is also the five-time defending NCAA champion at that level.

For UMD head coach Jim Boos, this match will serve as a good test for his squad midway through the season, but he's not ready to call it a must-win for the Bulldogs.

"When you look at long-term goals, I think qualifying for the NSIC tournament and trying to win a conference championship has to be right up there," Boos said. "That's certainly something the girls will want to be competing for. As everyone knows, our league is one of the toughest, if not the toughest, in the country."

Friday's match will get started at 7:00 p.m. at Romano Gymnasium in Duluth, with UMD carrying a (13-1) record coming in.
