No. 16 'Dogs Fall Behind Early, Lose to SCSU

St. Cloud State, MN (NNCNOW.com) --- The No. 16 University of Minnesota Duluth (UMD) men's hockey team fell behind by four goals in the first period and couldn't overcome the deficit as they fell 5-3 to No. 6 St. Cloud State on Friday night.

The Bulldogs answered with two goals of their own in the second period thanks to Andy Welinski and Kyle Osterberg and cut the deficit to two. Austin Farley also scored for the Bulldogs in the third.

Aaron Crandall finished with 10 saves for UMD but was pulled after the first period. Matt McNeely made 16 saves in relief.

UMD (13-10-4) and St. Cloud State (16-6-5) will face off again on Saturday night at 7:07 p.m.
