Grand Forks, ND (NNCNOW.com) --- The No. 20 University of Minnesota-Duluth (UMD) men's hockey team erased a two-goal third period deficit before falling to No. 13 North Dakota 4-2 at Ralph Englestad Arena on Friday night.

Alex Iafallo drew UMD within a goal in the third period when he deflected a puck in front of the goal before crashing into the net. Just 20 seconds later, Adam Krause knocked in a rebound on the power play to tie the game up at 2-2.

North Dakota got the last laugh though when Jordan Schmaltz scored on a power play to put UND ahead for goal. They also added an empty-netter.

UMD and North Dakota face off again on Saturday night at 7:07 p.m.
