Bemidji, MN (NNCNOW.com) --- The No. University of Minnesota-Duluth (UMD) football team rallied from a 14-point deficit to beat Bemidji State University 31-21 thanks to a big day from redshirt freshman quarterback Drew Bauer on Saturday afternoon.
Bauer finished 20-of-31 for 237 yards and one score through the air while running for 52 yards on 13 attempts with a touchdown. Logan Lauters led the UMD ground attack with 13 carries for 84 yards and two scores.
The Bulldogs outgained the Beavers in total yard 440 to 404 but gave up a season-high 258 yards on the ground.
Senior linebacker Colby Ring finished with nine tackles while senior defensive back Kenny Chowa and Travis Nordhus finished with seven stops each.
UMD returns to Malosky Stadium to take on Minnesota-Crookston for senior day. Kickoff is slated for 1:05 p.m.
