Duluth, MN (NNCNOW.com) --- Senior Dani Potter and junior Maureen Stormont will be a focal point of the University of Minnesota-Duluth (UMD) women's soccer team in the 2013 season --- rightfully so because the pair combined for 42 points last season.
Stormont led the entire Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC) with 11 goals in the 2012 campaign, and she finished first on the Bulldogs roster with 24 total points.
Potter, meanwhile, totaled five goals and eight assists last season to finish second in team scoring with 18 total points.
"If we're going to get results, it's going to be because we're scoring goals," head coach Greg Cane said. "They're the tip of the spear, so to speak. We have to build off of them. The premise of our play against most opponents is that we need to be assertive and play more in their half than our half."
UMD will open the 2013 season on Sept. 5 at home against Northern Michigan, with that game scheduled for a 7:00 p.m. kickoff at Malosky Stadium.
