Three Freshmen Score, 'Dogs Beat Buckeyes

Columbus, OH (NNCNOW.com) --- Three freshmen scored on Friday night for the #20-ranked University of Minnesota-Duluth (UMD) men's hockey team, accounting for all the Bulldogs' scoring in a 3-1 victory over Ohio State.

Kyle Osterberg scored his third goal of the year in the first period, and he was followed by Sammy Spurrell scoring his first collegiate goal in the second period and Duluth, Minn. native Dom Toninato notching his second of the year in the third period.

Aaron Crandall made 28 saves in the goal for UMD to earn his third win of the season, moving his record to (3-1-0) in 2013-14 for the Bulldogs.

UMD is now (4-2-1) overall this year and will finish up the two-game series with Ohio State on Nov. 2, with that game set to start at 6:07 p.m.
