Duluth, MN (NNCNOW.com) --- University of Minnesota-Duluth (UMD) seniors Cameron Harper and Duluth, Minn. native Kristi Mehrman have each been named a 2012-13 Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC) honor scholar-athlete award winner, it was announced on Wednesday.

The two were also finalists for NSIC student-athlete of the year, for which nominees must carry a 3.5 grade-point average, participate in the life of the institution, and participate in at least two-thirds of their primary sport.

Harper finished the 2012 football season with 76 total tackles and two interceptions, serving as a senior captain and helping lead the team to a (10-2) record and the NCAA Division II tournament.

Mehrman, meanwhile, finished the 2012 women's soccer season with one goal and one assist while playing defense and serving as a senior captain for the Bulldogs.
