Duluth, MN (NNCNOW.com) --- University of Minnesota Duluth (UMD) freshman forward Kyle Osterberg has been named the National Collegiate Hockey Conference (NCHC) rookie of the week, it was announced on Monday afternoon.

This marks the fourth time this season Osterberg has earned the award, the most of any freshman skater in the NCHC.

The Lakeville, Minn. native had a hand in four UMD goals this past weekend, collecting a goal and two assists on Friday before assisting on the Bulldogs' lone goal on Saturday.

He is currently tied for first on the team with 14 goals and ranks second with 27 total points, with that putting him third among NCHC freshman in the scoring race.
