UMD's Schnyder is NSIC Player of the Week

Duluth, MN (NNCNOW.com) --- University of Minnesota Duluth (UMD) sophomore infielder Sami Schnyder has been named the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC) softball player of the week, it was announced on Monday afternoon.

The Waconia, Minn. native played a key role for the Bulldogs this past week, hitting for a .625 average with six runs scored and five runs batted in as UMD locked up the No. 6 seed in the NSIC playoffs.

Schnyder is the only Bulldogs player to start every game this season, hitting for a .383 average with a team-high 57 hits to go along with a .483 on-base percentage.
