Duluth, MN (NNCNOW.com) --- Curt Wiese was officially named the new head football coach at the University of Minnesota-Duluth (UMD) on Dec. 21, taking over for the departing Bob Nielson as the head man in that Bulldogs program.

Wiese has since been spending much of his time on the recruiting trail, trying to replace the 11 seniors that graduated and won't be back with the Bulldogs in the 2013 season.

The new coach said he intends to continue the winning tradition at UMD, taking over a team that has gone (62-7) over the past five seasons and won two NCAA Division II championships.

Wiese made his comments while appearing on the weekly show, "Bulldog Country," which airs Friday and Saturday nights on the My 9 Sports Network.
