Duluth, MN (NNCNOW.com) --- University of Minnesota-Duluth (UMD) men's hockey assistant coach Derek Plante feels the team closed out the season's first half in the right way with a weekend road sweep over Alaska-Anchorage.

It marked the first time this season UMD had won the second game of a series and also the first time the Bulldogs had earned all four points in a Western Collegiate Hockey Association (WCHA) matchup.

UMD enters the holiday break in seventh place in the WCHA, but the team is just two points out of a tie for fifth and five points out of a tie for first.

Plante made his comments while appearing on the weekly show, "Bulldog Country," which airs Friday and Saturday nights on the My 9 Sports Network.
