Duluth, MN (Northland's NewsCenter) --- In what was perhaps their most dominating performance of the 2012 season, the #7-ranked University of Minnesota-Duluth (UMD) football team earned a 30-0 homecoming win over Bemidji State on Saturday afternoon at Malosky Stadium.
Senior quarterback Chase Vogler finished 18-of-26 passing for 216 yards and three touchdowns, those coming in the first half to Justin Fowlkes, Ben Helmer, and Zach Zweifel.
Logan Lauters was the leading rusher for UMD, finishing with 13 carries for 72 yards in the winning effort. Brian Lucas, though, was the only Bulldog with a touchdown on the ground, scoring on a two-yard run midway through the second quarter.
Saturday's victory extended UMD's home NSIC winning streak to 39 games, dating all the way back to the 2000 season.
The Bulldogs are now (7-1) this season and will next be in action October 27 on the road against Minnesota-Crookston, with that game scheduled for a 1:00 p.m. kickoff.
