Bulldogs Beat Team Japan in Exhibition

Duluth, MN (NNCNOW.com) --- The University of Minnesota-Duluth (UMD) women's hockey team used an offensive outpouring in the third period to breeze by Team Japan, 6-2 in an exhibition game on Saturday night at AMSOIL Arena.

Freshman Ashleigh Brykaliuk got on the board first for the Bulldogs and added an assist in her first game for UMD. Newcomer Katherine McGovern also added a goal for the Bulldogs.

Bulldogs goaltender Kayla Black made 12 saves in the win. Her counterpart, Nakaoku made 37 saves.

UMD opens up its regular season next weekend when they host the University of Connecticut on Friday and Saturday. Faceoff set for 6:07 p.m.
