Bulldogs Break Scoreless Streak, Win at Home

Duluth, MN (Northland's NewsCenter) --- The University of Minnesota-Duluth (UMD) women's soccer team had been held scoreless for nearly 300 minutes before breaking through in Saturday's second half, beating Southwest Minnesota State 1-0 at Malosky Stadium in Duluth.

Sophomore midfielder Jennifer Smith scored the game's lone goal ion the 66th minutes, a tap-in after a phenomenal run down the touchline made by junior forward Dani Potter.

UMD freshman goalkeeper Marissa Rosa made four saves in goal for the Bulldogs, marking the first shutout of her collegiate career.

The Bulldogs are now (2-4) overall this 2012 season and (1-3) in the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC).
