Duluth, MN (NNCNOW.com) --- The University of Minnesota Duluth (UMD) football team ranked second last fall in the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC) in allowing just 15 points per game during the regular season.
The Bulldogs, though, will move into next fall with only six starters returning from that group. That means five guys will have to step up to fill that role.
UMD linebacker Gavin Grady attributes most of last year's success to the team's depth on defense and hopes that will continue come August.
"We had a lot of young guys who got a lot of experience," said Grady. "They might not have been starters, but they played a lot, so a lot of young guys will be able to step up into some of these roles."
